Direction Determines Destiny

Several years ago when I was coaching in Kingsville…our teams were traveling on their way to the State Tournament for our division which was happening in Galveston…

detour

Since we had taken this trip a couple of times I thought this time I didn’t need to look at my directions.   In fact, usually when I go on any trip I will print out the google map directions,  look at them a couple of times and then keep them with me on the way.

Well, I started doing that more intensely after this trip.

On our way to Galveston I usually cut through some back roads but this time it was night and as we were going…all of the sudden I realized that where I was driving wasn’t as familiar.  We were off track…going the wrong direction and I knew if I didn’t stop we would be lost.

When I had missed our turn I had, momentarily, during our trip, stopped paying attention to our directions.  I don’t remember what I was doing.  I was probably in conversation but I learned a valuable lesson that day:

The focus of our attention…guides our direction…to fulfill our destiny or lead us to a path of destruction.

As you are leading your family, organization, or even your life…are you focusing on achieving the destiny God has for your life.  Have you created a plan and set your gaze full forward on achieving it.

The direction you are going will determine your destiny.  Keep focused.
